The ending was magnificent. The conclusion to the weekend was the perfect painting. The orange all so soothing, oh so ever calm. The half-set Sun was made whole again by the reflection of the waves. Details -the birds, the clouds and the little insignificant grains of sand that provided the movie chair to the perfect ending. Couples sat to watch the daily miracle happen as the motion picture flashed blue, orange, red. Grey. They all held their breaths at the breathtaking scene. No one seemed to remember the impending Monday blues. Nobody cared. Nobody made a noise. It was a timeless moment misplaced in a timed universe. For them, silence was their language. Their relationship was a victim: a victim of time. It wasn’t always like this. They were two average people, two grains of sand along an entire beach, but each of them knew the unspoken difference they made. They brought joy, comfort and shelter to each other’s lives. They brought their beings into each other’s life. However, familiarity was their downfall. Over the years they had exhausted words. Words that once carried meaning were lost, lost with time. The four-lettered word was just another way to start a conversation or end a conversation. Love meant nothing. Each dreaded the sunset. It was inevitable. The sun’s magnetic field seemed to pull the tears from their eyes. As the Sun went down, their tear drops. They were once attracted, but they were too alike. Maybe the end would preserve their love story. Maybe… They finally turned to each other, not eye to eye because their tears wouldn’t allow it. They turned to each other, heart to heart, under the concealment of the night. Nothing was spoken that evening but everything was communicated. Love still existed. It was the force that caused the reluctance to walk away. She took the heaviest steps of her life. Step by step, page-by-page, the book was nearing its end. He muttered, “there’s always sunrise.” CS™ at 8:42 AM
